Revived Mendi League names two sides for Ipatas Cup

THE revived Mendi Rugby Football League has set its sights on the lucrative K40,000 price mone on offer in the upcoming Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup in Wabag later this month.

Mendi, in the wilderness for a decade, is back on track with new executives President Joe Pungia, Richard Awasa (treasurer) and Barkley Tenza holding the fort.

Once known as home of the SP Cup premier team, Mendi Muruks, the new league has named two strong sides to prepare for the Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup in Wabag.

The two teams from Mendi will be called Mendi Soa and Mendi Sat.

Mendi Soa has Peter Andrew, Moses Sendi, Bengi Ben, Joe Dobar, Johnny Kepa, Junior Tenza, Feblu Timon, Joshua Ungia, Simon Peter, Junior Tol,

Wari Lawrence, Daniel Peter, Ali Albert, Besta Kondel, Samuel Jok, Peter Sengiso, more Kiyo, Timon Paul, Anton John, Samuel Kunis, Leon Cletues, Max Romanong, Steven Kua, Bit Embia, Benjamin Philip.

Coach is Vincent Sonk, the trainer is Wesley Pape while the Tony Wekil will look after both teams as the team doctor. The Mendi Sat has Nick Karinjo, Joka Johns, Mickey Batson, Yeshua Kima, Issac Wamberi, Joe Bogandi, Gewa Kili, Kennedy Embia, Hongum Karabus, Robert Toank, Jummy Tame,

Samson Kuli, Richard Rami, Tas Wagambie, Mark Mulupia, Jerry Embia, Jude Koke,Wer Mark,Wesley Naikon, Issac Ongol, Binox Joe, Sond Owil and Sofa Milfred. Coach is Alex Mokomne while Mabey and John Muruks flashy winger Sofa Milfred will be the team trainer with Nicholas Samba to manage the team.
