Elavo back in PNG side
By JACK AMI

FORMER PNG captain Bernard Elavo has being recalled to the national basketball training squad for the Arafura Games in Darwin, Australia in May. The veteran guard was dropped from 2007 Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa due to a knee injury sustained in that same year. Elavo’s selection into the train-on squad follows considerations that the veteran has recovered from the injury that sidelined him for two years. Basketball Federation PNG president Ben Davis and national basketball development officer Ronnie Mea’s are convinced that the two years was sufficient time for Elavo to recover from the injury. However, Elavo like all players named in the training squad will have to meet fitness test, be committed to training and pay the K3000 levy fee imposed on them.
