FRIENDS That Care (FTC), a musical group behind the "Be AIDS FREE" campaign since 2002, are launching a new single titled: "Am I Doing Something" (AIDS) to promote their awareness campaign slogan: "Let Children Be AIDS FREE" through music awareness.
Friends That Care (FTC) under its FTC Production copyright label will be releasing the song on audio, video & Karaoke CD's and the campaign starts this month as a children support and awareness campaign program throughout the country. It is an initiative of FTC Production.
Producer Harvey Sebea would like to acknowledge Pacific MMI Insurance Limited as the major sponsor together with the other corporate sponsors Tablebirds, PNG Waterboard, MRDC, InterOil, Hi-Lift Company and PNG Ports Corporation for donating the funds to produce the CDs.
This is a proactive community based initiative for implementation and sustainability focused on a long-term strategic plan and the first lot of CD copies will be distributed to the schools in NCD as a pilot project.
The Phase 2 project will be a mass production of the CDs to be distributed to other schools and provinces and the public for home viewing, listening and Sing-A-Long purposes and absorbing.
The song: Am I Doing Something? will be promoted widely on our local television and radio stations throughout the country.
The theme: Let children be AIDS FREE is a practical step into firstly freeing children from being relegated as a part of the stigma and secondly to prevent them from HIV & AIDS virus.
So much of the effect has been generated through unsafe sexual attempts and childbirth from affected parents. The new trend for the group Friends That Care is to extend common love, care and aspiration to join the fight against HIV & AIDS on behalf of the children through music talents by using universal music lyrics as an effective medium.
"Am I Doing Something?" is a gesture of enforcing communal responsibility to protect and sustain children from being humiliated and affected by the deadly virus HIV/AIDS?
HIV & AIDS will affect children's education, social and health growth if no care is given to their reactions against the spread of HIV/AIDS. Consequently, children have to depend on adults or parents' participation by taking full responsibility in the fight against HIV & AIDS.
Music is one of the biggest influences of today's young generation, which is diverting their minds and focus's towards social problems and contracting HIV & AIDS, destroying lives of many young children today.
The messages in this song are very touching and powerful which can change the children's behaviours and attitudes towards positive thinking and to make them focus on good healthy and better family lifestyles in future and most of all, to Be Aids Free citizens in PNG.
FTC various artists and their extended members will contribute by sharing their ideas, talents and skills to help in the prevention and the fight against HIV & AIDS campaign in PNG.
The group Friends That Care comprised various talents who hail from different parts of the country with musicians, singers and drama actors and by listening and viewing their awareness materials, it says it all what they can provide and offer in support of PNG community.
This project would also help the young artists to build confidence for their own benefit.
