Governor assists World Prayer Day with K10,000

KUNDIAWA town will come alive on March 4-6 when several thousands of people belonging to several Christian churches in Simbu province gather to celebrate the World Prayer Day.
The event was boosted with a presentation of K10,000 to the organising committee by Simbu Governor Fr. John Garia at Ega Lutheran Church in Kundiawa.

Fr Garia said the World Prayer Day is a worldwide event and Simbu province is for all the Christian church denominations.

"I want to support the ministers fraternal which comprised all the churches to help them prepare to stage a successful World Prayer day," he said.

The catholic priest cum politician not only assisted with funds, but also provided the organising committee with vehicles to move around to districts to carry out awareness.

Chairperson of the organising committee Agnes Gabee expressed gratitude and appreciation for Fr Garia.

She said they were in a process of circulating letters for financial support when Fr Garia came to their help.

Ms Gabee said World Prayer Day is an international event and is the responsibility of 17 Christian churches in Simbu to ensure the event becomes a success.
